 Renee & Duane wanted a wedding that celebrated their individual backgrounds (he attended Lake Forest Academy; the beautifully boxed Black Cake that served as their favors is a traditional treat in the
Caribbean - where Renee's family history goes back generations) as well as their history together (they started dating their Freshman year in college & each table at the reception was named after a location that had an important meaning to them).  The love & warmth in the room was undeniable & the joy of the union was shared by all of the guests - their bridal party even showered them with handfuls of rose petals as they left the reception at 1:00am!

Easy Custom Parasols

We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I think we can all give thanks for this wonderful weather we are having today in Chicago!


Today's inspiration is a very simple DIY created by the talented Valerie Landis. Using the parasols we carry in store, she made her own Just Married statement, which I think everyone can agree is a beautiful addition to any outdoor photoshoot and/or wedding. Thanks for the update, Valerie!

Gretchen and Todd
